Talent is Not Everything

Hard work, not talent, will get you where you want to go.

Bryant didn’t instantly show off his basketball skills. The Black Mumba had recently finished summer basketball camp at the age of 12 but had departed with his tail between his legs after failing to score even a single point.

Despite his dissatisfaction, he was inspired by Michael Jordan and proceeded to outsmart everyone. Bryant used to arrive at practice at 5 a.m. and leave at 7 a.m. when he was in high school, according to sources.

In his professional life, he kept pushing himself, spending hours exercising on his own before practice and, on occasions, even despite setbacks, displaying incredible passion and dedication.

Channel Your Energy in Achieving the Goal

Bryant’s basketball brilliance didn’t come without compromises; he was a firm believer in staying put. His perception was that as people,  we must make a decision. If you want to be exceptional at something, you must make a decision. We may all be experts in our profession, but you must make a choice.

That is to say; there are intrinsic compromises that come along with it. Spending time with family, socialising, being a wonderful friend, being a great son, nephew, or whatever the scenario may be.  Making that option and choosing to do something necessitates making some compromises.

Conclusion:

Talent is greatly exaggerated. One of our worst weaknesses is to ascribe a tremendous skill, wisdom, or capability to someone who was just born with greater talent than us. We only see the end result of their labors, not the endless hours of toil that went into getting them there.

Kobe Bryant is a fantastic representation of how success is reached by pure determination rather than talent.

Bryant had refused to be outworked since returning home from a basketball camp where he was embarrassed by more skilled players. He will be remembered in history as one of the greatest basketball players of all time because of his unwavering desire.
