6 Tips to Become a Better Defender in Basketball

When you go to the park or the gym, you’ll mostly see athletes practicing their attacking skills. Basketball offensive, as you can see, is a lot of fun. Start at a distance of at least an arm’s length away. If you’re not sure, you’re far enough away, contacting your defense is a good idea.

  • Shorten the steps

When defending drives, taking significant steps frequently will slow you down. Continue to “push-pull” off the front foot and take shorter choppier steps. Move players away from where they want to capture the basketball using your armbar and lower body. It is accurate at the low post as well as on the perimeter.   • Build Your Muscles

Defenders with strong core muscles will be the most successful. Your hips, abdomen, and buttocks will be powerful, allowing you to move fast in lateral motions while remaining balanced. Jumping rope can help you improve your foot speed. Knowing your opponent is, of course, the most excellent approach to becoming a solid defender. The most intelligent defender is the best defender.
